I’m Siobhan Starrs a TV journalist and freelance travel writer. I am also Mum to six year Kitty (not her real name) and partner to her Dad, Matthew. A native of Northern Ireland, I have lived in England for twenty years now and I love it. We generally holiday around the UK mostly Scotland, Northumberland, Cornwall, and of course my beloved County Down. I want to share my musings, photos and tips about our days out and longer vacations around the UK and offer inspiration for your next staycation. #staycationinspiration

I am also a freelance feature and travel writer. If you are interested in commissioning me for a newspaper or magazine article or sponsored post, please get in touch.

I have written the following travel stories for The Washington Post :

The Farne Islands

Game of Thrones filming locations in Northern Ireland

Ashdown Forest and Winnie the Pooh

Amy Winehouse’s Camden

The Line, London

I have also written features and travel stories for Associated Press:

The Black Forest, Germany

Winnie-the-Pooh’s Canadian roots

A forest nursery in London

Five free things to do in Belfast

Game of Thrones boost NI economy

I intend to be completely open and transparent in this blog. The blog will only feature days out that the writer has actually participated in, with the exception of the ‘Things to do’ future planners, that’s things I want to do. From time to time guest bloggers will be featured. If a post is the result of a ‘freebie’ or ‘sponsored’ in anyway, that will be indicated in the post. I will only give my honest opinion about an activity we do or any hospitality that we receive.

The blog is still taking shape and I am really keen on feedback.
